e are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Desktop Engineering to lead our desktop engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring that our organization's desktop infrastructure is reliable, secure, and optimized to meet the needs of our employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, overseeing desktop environments, and driving continuous improvement in desktop services.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of desktop engineers, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to meet organizational goals.Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and productivity.Provide regular feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities for team members.

Desktop Infrastructure Management:Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of desktop environments, including operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), applications, and hardware.Ensure that all desktop systems are secure, up-to-date, and performing optimally.Develop and implement policies and procedures for desktop management, including software distribution, patch management, and system updates.

User Support and Experience:Work closely with IT support teams to resolve complex desktop-related issues and provide top-tier support to end-users.Continuously evaluate and improve the end-user experience by implementing new technologies and optimizing existing processes.Gather and analyze feedback from users to identify areas for improvement in desktop services.

Security and Compliance:Implement and manage desktop security solutions, including antivirus, encryption, and identity management.Ensure that desktop systems comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Maintain detailed documentation of desktop configurations, security protocols, and processes.

Project Management:Lead desktop engineering projects from planning through to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Coordinate with other IT teams to manage large-scale deployments, upgrades, and migrations.Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Vendor and Stakeholder Relations:Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure the procurement and support of desktop technologies.Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and ensure desktop services support their objectives.Act as a liaison between the desktop engineering team and other departments to ensure alignment with overall IT strategy.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.7+ years of experience in desktop engineering or IT infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management position.Strong technical expertise in desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), endpoint management solutions (e.g., SCCM, Intune, Jamf), and virtualization technologies.Experience with implementing and managing desktop security solutions.Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing complex IT projects.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, CompTIA A+, ITIL) are a plus.
