The Clinical Inbox Nurse Specialist is a hybrid role offering opportunity for flexible and remote work and will primarily involve supporting provider inbox items within Martin’s Point Healthcare’s Primary Care Practice. The role will allow some remote work opportunity and be expected to have on-site presence periodically. The Clinical Inbox Nurse Specialist will support the departments of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Medicine, and Sports Medicine across multiple locations within Maine and New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have experience in Primary Care.Job Description

Key Outcomes:Manages and appropriately updates chart by review of consult notes and identifies key changes requiring provider reviewIdentifies and prioritizes urgent patient concerns, escalating to the appropriate clinical staff or providers as necessary for timely interventionFacilitates the exchange of information between patients and Primary Care Providers, including forwarding messages, clarifying patient concerns, and relaying provider instructionsReviews and processes medication refill requests, including verifying patient information, confirming prescription details with providers, and communicating with pharmacies as needed while following standard protocolsTracks and communicates the status of ordered diagnostic tests, specialist referrals and other follow-up care as neededEnsures timely and appropriate response to patient inquiries, test results, medication refills and other health-related concerns communicated through the patient portalCoordinates appointment scheduling based on provider availability and patient needsOffers guidance and information to patients regarding their health concerns, treatment plans and self-care strategies through written and verbal communicationMaintains detailed and accurate records of all communications and actions taken in response to patient messages, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory requirementsEducation/Experience:Associate’s degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred3+ years of relevant nursing experience requiredPrimary Care experience preferredRequired License(s) and/or Certification(s):Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in Maine (Compact License required)Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationSkills/Knowledge/Competencies (Behaviors):Demonstrates an understanding of and alignment with mission and vision of Martin’s PointAble to research and identify creative and effective solutions to patient, resources, or coordination issuesMaintains complete and accurate documentationProficient in computer knowledge, electronic medical records, typing skills, and ability to use phone systemEffective communication skills with providers and patientsProactively seeks most up to date policy and procedures and stays up to date on Clear Triage protocolsAble to flex hours to meet clinic/staff demandsAble to follow standard protocolsMaintains patient confidentialityWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
