The Field Operator works as part of a team in a continuous process manufacturing environment. The Process Operator will adhere to all safety and environmental parameters that apply in a chemical manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Process Operator is jointly responsible for ensuring production targets are being maintained while meeting all quality parameters for finished product.
WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU
Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent certificate requiredAssociate technical degree certification preferredExperience working with a Distributed Control System (DCS) preferredExceptional time management, work ethic and dependabilityAbility to communicate effectively and build relationships with various levels of management throughout the organizationEffective communication skills and the ability to resolve problems quickly and efficientlyAbility to adapt to a fast paced environmentAble to work rotating 12 hour shift schedulesPhysical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walking up and down stairs/ladders, working at heights and carrying up to 50 poundsResponsibilities:
Routinely review the operation of the plant to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvementParticipate in projects to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.Control plant activities thru the distributed control system (DCS)Maintain adequate records of key production variables such as production volume, yield, plant uptime, utility consumption, etc., on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis, as requiredCommunicate directly with QA/QC laboratory to ensure effective participation in the implementation of QA policies and proceduresSample and test process streams as required by the QA/QC program and proceduresUnderstand and implement start-up and shut-down procedures for given area or areasMaintain QA/QC recordsUnderstand and interpret QA/QC results and take appropriate action when required.Communicate directly with the maintenance department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areasPerform preventive maintenance activities as requiredAssist maintenance technicians in performing maintenance and repairsWork in a safe manner at all timesParticipate in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanlinessMonitor use and inventories of process chemicals and suppliesFill out Permits correctly and in a timely manner.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

South Bend Ethanol, LLC , is the most recent plant acquisition. As a global leader in the renewable energy industry, this will be Verbio's second US production facility following the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant. The site will be developed over the next three years incorporating Verbio's advanced engineering and operating technology practices. Verbio intends to expand and develop the plant into a modern biorefinery at an estimated total investment of $230 million.
