A leading Marine Shipping Company is seeking an experienced Computer Systems Supervisor to lead their Server Administration team. The role involves managing server availability, performance, and recovery, as well as overseeing storage/SAN systems and related software. Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the design, installation, support, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure secure and stable IT operations.
Responsibilities*Manage and ensure the availability, performance, and recoverability of servers, storage/SAN, and related systems.*Oversee business recovery processes for server, storage, and network components, maintaining accurate documentation.*Monitor backup systems and system management consoles.*Ensure timely and satisfactory repairs for servers and storage.*Keep servers updated and patched to maintain security and reliability.*Design and implement strategic plans for server and storage/SAN capacity to meet current and future needs.*Coordinate the purchase, installation, configuration, and implementation of server equipment and software.*Develop hardware and software configuration standards; evaluate and recommend new technologies.*Administer server and network security, performing security audits as needed.*Manage Microsoft Windows Server, VMWare, Citrix environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and FTP services.*Coordinate remote Database Administration requests and application/database migrations.*Provide second-level support for personal computers and related peripherals*Monitors and manages software licensing to ensure corporate compliance*Collaborates with telecommunications staff, application support teams, and vendors to design, implement, and enhance server and storage systems
Job Requirements
Requirements:*Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a related field (Associate"s degree acceptable with strong experience).*Minimum of five years of experience in managing and planning networks, with at least two years in a supervisory role.*Extensive technical knowledge of network and server-based systems, primarily SAN, VMware, and Citrix Active Directory*Proven ability to manage a team and execute strategic IT plans effectively.
