Job Purpose

Provides technical support for end-users with an emphasis on software application and network hardware support. Resolves moderate to complex problems in support of AIS server and storage infrastructure. Interacts closely with network, communications, and security administration to assist in the restoration of services and or identify and help correct core problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs user administration on e-mail and network serversProvides second level support for Help Desk issuesWorks with and sets network permissions on network serversPerforms administrative tasks on system backup equipment and softwareProvides backup support for hardware support functionInstalls, troubleshoots, and supports networked printers, copiers, and fax machinesLogs all support requests and resolutions in the call tracking softwareWork with other IT specialists in analyzing and solving cross platform software and hardware issuesMaintain and update asset records of all software and hardware information in AIS asset databaseCreate and/or maintain AIS related records and documentationEnforce and follow AIS policies and proceduresServe as liaison between AIS and end-users when major service issues ariseAdditional Responsibilities:Assist AIS management with projects as requiredRecommend system modifications to reduce user problemsProvide support for end-user and networked peripherals, e.g. printer, scanners, and fax machines as load requiresAssist with answering the Help Desk phone and e-mail as load requiresQualifications

Education:

2-year degree or equivalent military training in computer information systems or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years help desk or PC related experienceMinimum of 2 years Systems Administration experienceAdditional Skills:

Ability to follow written and verbal directions in the English Language.Ability to speak/read/write English.Available for Weekends and after hours when on call.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (Server & Workstation) and Microsoft Office SuiteWorking knowledge of networking and the TCP/IP protocolWorking knowledge of PC hardware and printing systemsAbility to present a logical approach to illogical reactions from customersAbility to effectively communicate to a user who is responding emotionallyAbility to excel in a fast paced professional environment while adapting to changes in organization, policy, and proceduresAbility to follow and create project plans as directed by the AIS management and provide quantifiable project updates throughout the projectExcellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skillsAbility to efficiently use time and resources in accomplishing daily and project goals while maintaining a customer service oriented attitudeGeneral Job Requirements
