Overview:
The Sacramento, CA office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an experienced Pursuits & Proposals Manager to join our dynamic marketing and business development team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent judgment, strong project management skills, a solid understanding of the RFP/proposal process, and outstanding attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong critical thinking skills to work directly with practice group chairs and business development leads to help drive continued success with the proposal and business development process across the firm.Responsibilities:Responsibilities & QualificationsCommunicate and collaborate directly with team members, attorneys, and other stakeholders with proposals and related business development projects.Prepare formal RFP responses, pitch materials, and competitive intelligence reports for business development and targeting initiatives focused on both existing and prospective clients. This includes managing the proposal/RFP/presentation development process (due dates, drafting submissions in accordance with required formatting, etc.) and working with internal departments as needed to ensure timely delivery of finished product.Collaborate with partners on litigation spotting/docket monitoring efforts utilizing tools like Courthouse New Service and legal media outlets.Supervise Proposal Coordinator(s) who are assigned to assist with RFPs, pitches, and proposals.Assist as necessary with responses to industry surveys, rankings/awards, and miscellaneous requests for information from internal stakeholders and team members.Maintain the firms Loopio-based proposal tracking database of past and current proposals, including resources for best practice wording and guidance, proposal activity (wins/losses), and client feedback.Assist with the collection, drafting, and cataloging of attorney experience for use in pitches and proposals, as well as directory submissions.Provide support as assigned to conduct and/or review research on competitors, prospects, clients, and market trends.4-5+ years significant project management experience preferred. This role requires the ability to organize large amounts of content in a logical manner and requires hands on oversight of marketing and business development support staff.Client service: Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing demands while maintaining a high level of customer service. Ability to motivate attorneys while prioritizing workload is essential.Work style: Ability to prioritize competing stakeholders and deadlines with a pleasant and professional demeanor.Communication skills: Ability to communicate with courtesy and respect with a diverse group of lawyers, business professionals, clients, and service providers. Demonstrated ability to effectively articulate value proposition and practice/attorney differentiation.Education and prior service: Bachelors Degree is required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English. Experience in a law firm and/or professional services industry is required.Technology skills: Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite are essential.
