This role will be responsible for creating, managing, and analyzing geographic data, conducting spatial analysis, and creating data products. They will work across multiple disciplines including federal land management, conservation or natural resource management and must be able to understand our clients business, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, enjoy working in fast-paced environments, and be interested in supporting a wide variety of project work often at the same time. They will use open source as well as proprietary tools and technologies to perform data creation, remediation, validation, and analysis independently under the direction of senior team members.Responsibilities:Develops data and software products as directed by task leads for assigned projects.Interprets client business requirements into software and data technical requirements.Designs, codes, and tests software components, leveraging modern development practices and tools to ensure functionality, performance, and scalabilitySupport products across software development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to development to supporting releases post-deploymentPerforms data validation and ensures data accuracy and completeness.Builds spatial user interfaces through programming languages and configuration-based solutions (including ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, ArcGIS Notebooks, ArcGIS Arcade, ArcGIS Python & JavaScript APIs, and opensource libraries)Design and document geospatial data structures and databasesConducts spatial data editing, analysis, and interpretation.Collects, edits, and manages geographic data using GIS software.Follows documented data management approaches specific to a project.Demonstrates Locana company values on assigned projects.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
5+ years relevant GIS experience.5+ years relevant experience developing land management data and/or software solutions.Demonstrates working knowledge of programming languages with an emphasis on JavaScript, Python, open source libraries (React, Angular) and/or Esri Arcade.Demonstrates working knowledge of technical GIS applications, concepts, principles, and theories.Familiarity with industry-specific subject areas, including regulatory requirements, business processes, and technical challenges.Contributes to data management strategy and delivery for assigned workstreams/projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.Communicates technical information in a logical, organized, coherent, and persuasive manner, both written and verbally.Independently delivers work on assigned workstreams at the direction of task leads.Collaborates seamlessly within a team environment to deliver quality projects.Provides comprehensive mentoring, training, and guidance on GIS technical processes to GIS Technicians and Analysts.Exhibits expertise in GIS technical processes for producing high-quality GIS work products.Maintains responsible, consistent, and reliable behavior to meet deadlines and complete assignments.Ability to travel up to 25%.Benefits * :
