The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a

Research Assistant

to coordinate and implement research activities of the lab. Under the supervision of a faculty investigator, Alban Latremoliere, PhD, the Research Assistant will perform data analysis and data management, participate in general lab administration, participate in grant writing and assist the PI on developing protocols.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Data Analysis/ Data Management

Setup and maintain mouse colonies (including monitoring animals and maintaining health record).Conduct data analysis of behavioral experiments and sensory assessments.Maintain HIPAA-compliant participant database. Maintain data archives.Organize files.Assist in experimental design and implementation.

General Lab AdministrationParticipate with PI on design and implementation of standard operating procedures.Attend and take notes at lab meetings.Supervise undergraduate research assistants.Liaise between administrative office as necessary.Order supplies and maintain equipment as necessary, review invoices and statements and shipments for correctness.

Protocol ManagementAssist PI on developing ACUC protocols and amendments.Liaise between lab and ACUC and RAR.Prepare all necessary forms and paperwork related to research protocols.Under direction from PI, prepare and submit any safety or biohazard forms.

Grant WritingParticipate with PI on grant applications, non-competing renewals, and progress reports.Collaborate with administrative staff regarding grant submissions, as necessary.Perform other duties as required.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in related discipline.Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
