Role: Digital Organizer

Location and Timeline:

We are hiring Digital Organizers for this position beginning August 12 and ending on December 13, 2024. Organizers will be based in Phoenix, AZ and Philadelphia, PA. Preference will be given to organizers that can be geo-flexible as the campaign progresses.

Who We Are:The Outreach Team is the national engine of campaigners and organizers powering the young-people vote movement. With an on-the-ground presence in communities all across the country, our world-class team runs successful civic engagement campaigns to build a future that’s fairer, healthier, safer and more peaceful for everyone.

General Overview:

We are currently seeking Digital Organizers to engage young people around abortion rights ahead of the 2024 General Election. Organizers will recruit and train volunteers on college campuses who mobilize their networks to share content via relational organizing tools to create an online echo chamber of memes and other shareable content that drive home the core messages of elected leaders and organizations fighting for abortion rights and other critical issues. Come October, organizers and their volunteers will leverage their relationships and mobilize their communities to launch a Get Out The Vote operation through Election Day 2024 - work which the digital organizer will be promoting using social media, relational organizing tools, as well as the recruitment and training of volunteers to engage in GOTV activities.

What We Are Looking For

Responsibilities:

Recruit and Train a Community of Volunteer Activists

Call and text supporters and recruit them into digital actionsRun grassroots skills trainings to develop effective digital campaigners among volunteersKeep meticulous track of a volunteer list so that no potential volunteer falls through the cracksDevelop relationships with local influencers and power players on college campuses to engage their participation on the campaign

Manage Digital Campaign, Data Management, and Reporting Tools

Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools to communicate with community membersSend timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activitiesTrack every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaignSupport organizers use of digital tools including training and troubleshooting when neededManage digital tools for the organizing team including texting, relational organizing, phonebanking and other social media tools

Drive Online Organizing

Draft relational organizing and peer-to-peer messaging scripts and asks to support organizer recruitment and other workCraft specialized messages for different audiences in partnership with other communications and social media staff to grow supporter lists and online followingRun grassroots skills trainings to develop effective digital campaigners among volunteers

Qualifications:Must have

Track record of centering equity and justice in your work.Passion for progressive policies with a specific passion for reproductive rights and accessExperience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies: Megaphone, Hustle, MailChimp, VAN, and social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).Task management experience:

Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a project.Ability to tackle big-picture projects and break them down into smaller pieces

Organized and efficient:

Experience or demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or goals at once in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Acute attention to detail:

Ability to track interactions and tasks with detailed notes.Ability to plan ahead for roadblocks and bounces back quickly when problems arise.

Effective communication skills (written and spoken) that are clear, concise and honest.Ability to work weekends and weekday evenings, occasional holidays.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience working for nonprofits, electoral campaigns, and/or other issue campaignsData Management and Evaluation Experience: Experience working with various data management systems and tools, mainly Google Suite.Event or Project Planning & Management, Implementation or EvaluationKnowledge or previous experience working on this issue is a plus, but not required

Salary, Benefits and Perks:The salary for this position is $50,600-$59,600 commensurate with experience. Salary within this range is determined through an equity calculator. As part of The Outreach Team’s commitment to compensation equity and transparency, we have a no negotiation policy. Salary negotiations can introduce bias and perpetuate wage inequality. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement. We offer a generous benefits package, including:
