The Events & Media Services Coordinator is responsible for managing audiovisual support for special events and overseeing media and videoconferencing services. This position is directly responsible for the operation and management of the Zoom videoconferencing platform, the Kaltura video management service, and supplemental recording in our classrooms.The Events & Media Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating technical support for all campus special events, supervising the Special Events student employee team, providing consultations to the campus community on videoconferencing and media management services, troubleshooting related equipment, creating guides and documentation, performing upgrades and maintenance on related systems, and recommending improvements and upgrades.The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about the value of media and videoconferencing systems to a premier higher education research institution and wants to drive success for our faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors.Key Responsibilities:Acts as the service owner for Zoom and Kaltura. Maintains systems, troubleshoots issues, configures services, manages access, creates documentation, answers questions, and advises on needed upgrades and improvements.Oversees the IT Special Events support service: reviews requests, meets with requestors to meet their needs and clarify support, schedules and supervises student team, creates and revises procedures to support special events, and consults with campus groups such as Office of Student Involvement and Hospitality Services.Consults with faculty, staff, and students on their needs and provides solutions for Zoom, Kaltura, and special event technology support.Works with campus groups and compliance offices to ensure data protection and privacy are configured and working on media and videoconferencing services.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area from an accredited institution or equivalent experience/training; and3+ years of experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining videoconferencing and media management service; and3+ years of experience using and troubleshooting integrated audiovisual systems, including livestream, video capture, and videoconferencing systems (required); andExperience working in higher education (preferred); andExtron Essentials certification or equivalent (preferred).Knowledge of audiovisual systems, including signal flow, hardware, and moderate troubleshooting skill.Experience in using Zoom at a moderate level and ability to support end users in their use of Zoom.Experience using and supporting Kaltura or similar video management system.Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner with people from diverse backgrounds.Interpersonal and communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.Leadership skills to successfully oversee student employees.Knowledge of support ticket management systems and reporting, preferably ServiceNow (preferred).
