WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Director of Accounting is a highly visible role with senior leadership that provides leadership and oversight on financial reporting, financial systems, accounting practice and policy as well as auditing controls for Dreamscape's new Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the accounting team, including but not limited to:
  • General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Inventory Control.
  • Lead an effective and comprehensive process for all accounting functions, monthly close process and account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of financial statements and reporting.
  • Maintain comprehensive US GAAP and financial reporting expertise.
  • Directs internal and external audit engagements. Reviews and approve financial transactions and ensure compliance with monthly, quarterly and fiscal year end close requirements.
  • Planning, organizing and coordinating the year-end close process with internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Guide decisions in succession planning, culture and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Mentor and provide career pathing to team members.
  • Identify and adapt to changes in the economic climate and/or company profits and pivot accordingly.
  • Maintains records for submission to gaming and government agencies.
  • Maintains knowledge of current gaming and government regulatory requirements pertaining to financial management, federal and state tax requirements, and audit processes and procedures.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and quality output.
  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position directly supervises General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and indirectly supervises Treasury, Payroll, and Inventory Control.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum eight (8) years of related accounting, analysis and/or financial management experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, and analytical thinker.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to set and successfully drive strategies for both customer loyalty and employee culture programs.
  • Strong Computer proficiency; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and applicable financial and operational software.
  • Bachelor's Degree (required).
  • At least 21 years of age.


PREFERRED
  • CPA accredited.
  • Proficient in using accounting ERP systems such as Workday Financials or similar software.
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.


WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
