BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provides Tier 1 assistance and advice to users, interpreting problems and providing technical and application support for hardware, software, and systems. Correctly installs, configures, and maintains PC workstations and network components.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Thorough understanding of operating systems, software installation and test procedures, security and operational requirements and clinical and financial systems.Familiar with mission critical multi-system structures.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Investigates and solves problems with desktop operating systems and office applications.Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems.Maintains computer hardware, operating systems and software to ensure availability and reliability of service including ensuring all computer hardware is properly working and updates are current.Correctly configures and installs PCs and printers on the network.Assists the Networking team with troubleshooting network issues.Establishes Active Directory user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.Documents the Help Desk and Management System (Track-It) and meets service standards according to department policies.Maintains inventory of IT equipment, such as desktops, printers, laptops and mobility devices.Provides effective and timely user support for problem resolution in PC hardware and software related issues to the user's satisfaction.Upholds the hospital policy guidelines regarding Hospital wide policies and information systems as well as recommends new and improved guidelines to insure compatibility and better service for PC users.Effectively works with others in the hospital in a collaborative manner, helping to determine the needs of the customer and placing new computer hardware and software.Assists the IT Operations Manager in managing the enterprise network including wide area and local area network by ensuring that network patches are properly maintained in the network closets.Maintains current technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology of microcomputers and utilizes state-of-the-art techniques when implementing personal computing solutions.Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure for lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
