Armed Security Officer

Overview

Join our team and continue your mission as an Armed Security Officer. In this role you'll provide security support for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centerfacility in Charleston.

Responsibilities

What You'll Get To Do:

• Interact and escort as government personnel along with the general public. 
• Provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions. 
• Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspections. 
• Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• Must be at least 21 years of age. 
• Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard), OR ny combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer - armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard). 
• Associate’s Degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or 
• Successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. 
• Successfully complete all required weapons training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment. 
• Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
• Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
