Engineer Intern

How will I contribute?

As a Process Utilities Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. The focus will be on the design and engineering of critical utility equipment and distribution (or collection) systems along with the supporting facility infrastructure required to support manufacturing operations. Typical tasks include execution of engineering calculations including heat transfer and hydraulic pressure drop calculations.Typical tasks and deliverables include-

Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead. Systems Designed include:

Purified Water Generation, Storage and DistributionClean Steam Generation and DistributionCompressed Air and Process Gas Generation and DistributionBiological and Process Waste Collection, Inactivation and NeutralizationClean in Place SystemsBulk Chemical Storage and DistributionBulk Cryogenic Liquid Storage and Distribution

Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, BioProcess Engineering or Architectural EngineeringExperience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)Interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferredStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insightsMust be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applicationsPreferred Qualifications

Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferredFamiliarity with Engineering Software Application including computer aided drafting, process modeling and calculations programsFamiliarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industryPrior internship or co-op experience in Mechanical Engineering, Process Utilities Engineering or related field
