The Birth Care Suites is a separate building across the street from the main hospital (there is a tunnel to transport patients). Patients must be >37wga and meet low risk criteria to deliver at BCS. We value 1:1 labor support and active positioning/management of labor. Our patients value the birthing center experience (less hospital-feel) and appreciate the continuity of care with their nurse from labor to postpartum care. We are a teaching hospital so we work with residents. We have a dedicated anesthesia team that only covers women s services. We have a Hospitalist available 24/7 to respond for oversight and emergencies if needed. We typically deliver 110-130 babies per month at BCS (for a hospital total of 450-500/month). Our c/s rate averages <10%. We have quite a few tenured nurses (some opened the BCS 25+ years ago) and always hear about the great teamwork. We strive to maintain our high patient experience and employee engagement scores this is a great place to have a baby and a great place to work!
