Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely operate the screed to level asphalt or concrete, ensuring specified surface quality and paving depth.
Read grade stakes and collaborate with grade checkers, lasers, or GPS to maintain accurate grading.
Communicate effectively with other crew members using hand signals and verbal communication to coordinate work and ensure safety.
Keep equipment clean and prepare it for transport on a flatbed when necessary.
Perform daily inspections and maintenance to ensure the machine is in safe, proper working order, including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
Notify mechanics when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at the job site.
Follow the Supervisor's instructions closely.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understand basic screed mechanics.
CDL Class A commercial license required.
Comprehend and adhere to all safety regulations.
Follow Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
Maintain an unwavering focus on safety.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Dakotas.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit.
Work outside in all weather conditions.
Effectively handle lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Regularly work extended or overtime hours outdoors in various weather conditions at all project locations.
Travel is required.
