About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to work on our check modernization initiative. This effort will modernize and automate check processing capabilities. Check processing will continue to be a valuable product for our small business and corporate customers for the foreseeable future despite the existence and adoption of non-check payment options.  The Lead Software Engineer will help refine technical stories, design and develop the stories that need more senior engagement, and help mentor more junior developers.In this role, you will:Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impactAct as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplinesDesign, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programsReview and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factorsMake decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesCollaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goalsLead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentorRequired Qualifications:5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education5+ years of application development and implementation experience5+ years Java/J2EE Web Application Development, Spring core, Web Services (REST, SOAP etc.), microservices development.1+ years previous experience working in check processing and/or payments environmentDesired Qualifications:Certification in Google/Azure Cloud, AWS Associate level / Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) developer, Container and Kubernetes experience.Experience in Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) & Domain Driven Development (DDD).Hands on Experience in using BDD testing frameworks (Cucumber, karate etc)Strong in OOAD, Multi-threaded application development, design and implementation of web applications, Design PatternsExperience in Consumer Banking or any complex middleware applicationsAPI - driven development - Experience working with remote data via SOAP, REST and JSON.Experience with Applications Performance Tuning, Scaling, Security, Resiliency Best PracticesHands on experience in delivering high value projects in Agile (SCRUM) methodology preferably using JIRA tool.Previous experience working at a financial institutionJob Location:3075 Loyalty Circle, COLUMBUS, OHSalary: $111,100-$197,500This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfers.This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
