The Impact you will have in this role:

The Technology Research and Innovation (TRI) group serves as DTCC's leading edge in the field of emerging technologies. TRI focuses on exploring, researching, proofing, adopting, and onboarding innovative technologies and emerging business paradigms to DTCC, which include concepts and technologies like Digital Assets, Blockchain/DLT, Artificial Intelligence etc. Responsible for end-to-end lifecycle from conceptualization to Production across a broad spectrum of emerging tech, TRI plays a key role in continuing to further DTCC's role as an innovation leader in the financial services industry. TRI Director has a specific focus on our Research and Innovation lab to holistically own, lead and evolve all aspects of Cloud Infrastructure, DevSecOps and Support functions. Research and Innovation Lab provides the core foundation to all our work and hence this is role is extremely critical to our overall success.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach and mentor the Innovation Lab team responsible for security, automation, user experience and governance of TRI's multi-cloud lab (currently hosted on AWS and Azure), and handle all aspects of team management, including the development of employees.
  • Provide strategic leadership, technical direction and hands-on management to develop and execute on short and long-term roadmaps across all aspects of the lab and associated teams.
  • Continuously ensure and evolve the security posture of the lab to provide safe and secure environments for all our projects.
  • Ensure extraordinary user experience (including user support, resolution of issues etc.) to all internal and external users of the lab
  • Provide guidance and maintain documentation for best practices and standards.
  • Grow new SME cells and squads within the team as required to stay abreast of new and emerging needs related to upcoming projects and technologies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licenses and other commercial aspects related to the lab
  • Supervise, manage and report on the lab budget, spend and other metrics
  • Hire, coach and mentor new team members.
  • Partner with business users/IT senior leaders to ensure deliverables are accurately aligned with organizational roadmaps.
  • Create an inclusive environment across all aspects of the team, including continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
  • Follow strategic direction set by senior management and balance demand and resources for short- and long-term goals for TRI.
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Strong thought leader who can conceive, develop, and execute on the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for critically important infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in leading medium-sized teams responsible for end-to-end Infrastructure and Support functions.
  • Deep knowledge of either AWS or Azure Clouds. Solid understanding of both is a strong plus but not a must.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in implementing and hardening all aspects of Cloud Infrastructure security. Ability to keep an eye on emerging security threats and proactively plan appropriate evolutions in the lab's security set-up.
  • Good knowledge of DevSecOps
  • Experience managing vendors and supervising vendor/license contract lifecycles.
  • Solid understanding of Project, Program management principles.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence
  • Ability to work and deliver in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and willing to adapt to changes.
  • Encourages different approaches or ways of working.

  • Convinces others on key topics by presenting persuasive arguments and alternative approaches.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC's mission to support the financial markets.
