Summary/Objective

The Manager, Sales Development is responsible for the direction and strategic planning of the Sales Development Department. The position also is responsible for coaching and assisting the network in sales building activities and programs, and delivering training sessions.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the department's goals to ensure support for meeting the organization's mission, key strategic objectives and annual business plan.
  • Strategically align sales training and development programs to support goals, growth, and business plan strategies.
  • Adhere to the sales development budget and manage all resources accordingly.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators for the team and the FASTSIGNS Network to ensure the effectiveness of the support of the team.
  • Develop and convey a sales-mentality with team members; create tools to demonstrate the value of FASTSIGNS.
  • Manage the outside sales professional training program.
    • Help develop curriculum, oversee their implementation and management.
    • Oversee instructor-led course schedule and internal presenter assignments.
    • Teach classes as assigned/necessary.
  • Manage sales management training program for Franchisees.
    • Help develop curriculum, oversee their implementation and management.
    • Teach classes as assigned/necessary.
  • Lead team members to ensure job responsibilities are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Continuously build positive relationships with team members, other FASTSIGNS International departments, and center owners/employees through professional and proactive communication and partnering techniques.
  • Maintain strong communications and collaboration with all departments.
  • Develop professional skills through company and industry-related resources, professional journals and seminars, and other learning opportunities as appropriate.
  • Conduct proactive sales training and coaching for outside salespeople (and franchisees that serve as outside sales people).
  • Guide franchisees on how to lead, manage and coach their outside sales personnel
    • Educate on hiring, compensation plans, training new staff, sales planning, sales management, and accountability tools.
  • Create, implement and evaluate successful sales strategies for niche markets and identify opportunities within existing databases or businesses in the area.
  • Schedule and execute field training sessions as appropriate including time frame, target audience, topics and locations.
  • Ensure the department contributes effectively to the University of FASTSIGNS on-line and other training initiatives.
  • Travel to support outside sales employees and/or franchisees.
  • Track and record support activities in Franconnect (or other company contact database) and ensure the team is following established procedures for network contact.
