Senior Underwriter - Life Science NYC/ Long Island

Chubb is currently seeking a Commercial Lines - Life Science Underwriter to join its -Technology Insurance Specialty Practice with a focus on Life Sciences
This position will support both NYC and Long Island business and individual will need to travel to both locations.

Qualifications
The pay range for the role is $80,500 to $137,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. Main responsibilities include:
- Financial performance, including profit, rate, retention, and identifying account round and cross-sell opportunities for a book of commercial business consisting of Life Science accounts.
- Underwrite and negotiate new lines and renewals on a commercial line's portfolio of $7.5M in Life Science business.
- Lines of business include commercial package, product liability, automobile, umbrella, workers compensation, and international lines including foreign clinical trial policies for Life Sciences business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers to successfully produce, manage and grow our business.
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of commercial underwriting with the ability to analyze risks, adhere to underwriting strategies, prioritize the gathering of underwriting data, and clearly communicate a well thought out underwriting approach.
- Five plus years of underwriting experience preferably in Life Science.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling Life Science business.
- Strong analytical skills including financial analysis
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with both internal and external business partners.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment
- Mostly local travel
