Position Overview

The Finance Manager is the finance lead for the business unit, and it reports directly to the CFO of the Sample Management Solutions division. This position will have significant interaction with the Corporate Planning group as well as with other finance Global Process Owners. The position will be responsible for the day-to-day financial oversight for assigned business units (Sample Repository Services & Informatics). Additionally, this role will lead to developing business cases (preparation/tracking/measuring) for growth initiatives of the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business partner to the operating team to drive business initiatives, growth, and profitability, including:
    • Provide timely, relevant financial information to develop action plans to meet targets.
    • Financial analysis for Gross Margin, Operating Expenses and Headcount
    • Trusted finance operations partner to the business leaders and internal support functions (HR, IT, Facilities, Commercial, Legal, Facilities)
    • Partner with business unit leaders to drive profitability improvements.
    • Improve visibility to costs, lead cost out initiatives.
  • Lead all aspects of the Forecast, Planning and Analysis function, including:
    • Strategic long-term and Annual Operating Planning
    • Monthly / quarterly forecasting and monitoring of risk and opportunities
    • High quality Monthly and quarterly management reporting
    • As requested, provide analytical support for investor relations and corporate planning to include assistance on M&A activity, press releases, analyst calls
  • Strategic Analysis and Pricing
    • Lead in a hands-on manner all aspects of the customer pricing for the division/business units.
    • Engage with commercial team in deal reviews, provide guidance on pricing, payment terms, highlight and address financial risks proactively.
    • Collaborate with business unit leaders in ensuring accurate Sample Count Model, registration / retrieval analytics.
    • Develop business cases for growth initiatives in partnership with the business, functional leads, and commercial team.
    • Implement and oversee a review process to measure results against expectations
    • Engage in business initiatives to drive simplification in business and financial operations such as billing accuracy, ERP optimization, automation of analytics and reporting.
  • Drive controllership awareness and compliance with business policies and controls:
    • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and business accounting policies and procedures
    • Develop and maintain processes to support a strong controls environment
    • Support internal and external audits


Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years in progressive financial leadership roles to include leading teams.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree Finance and Accounting, MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of business partnership in a dynamic, high-growth environment
  • Strong process improvement mindset and cross functional engagement. Project management skills. Six Sigma and/or Lean trained would be an added advantage.
  • Highly proficient in ERP (Oracle, HFM, OneStream), Excel, PowerPoint, data analytics tools (Tableau, Sales Force etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills.


Working Conditions
  • May be asked to travel occasionally (not expected to exceed 10%)
