Histotechnologist

The Dermatology Specialists is looking for a Histotechnologist to prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. Also, stain tissue specimens with dyes or other chemicals to make cell details visible under microscopes.Other tasks include:Specimen Embedding and MicrotomyH/E and special staining and preparation of solutionsSlide cover slipping and labelingUtilizing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all equipment; tissue processorsParticipation in supply inventory management and ordering if applicableFiling of blocks and slides and slide distributionQC/QA Participation Minimum QualificationsLicensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory histotechnician, histotechnologist, technician, or technologist.An Associates Degree from a relevant course of study as defined by PA clinical laboratory licensing requirements. A high school degree will only be accepted if the individual has the designated experience and has obtained their license through the grand parenting pathway defined by PAExperience required is 6 months - 1 year in a surgical pathology laboratory.Exposure to Computer systems • Good communication skills Required Licenses: Certified Histo Technician, Clinical Lab Technician, Clinical Lab TechnologistJob Type: Full time
