ADULT HEMATOLOGIST/ONCOLOGISTS

Openings in Northern & Central California

Fresno:

Seeking a BC/BE hematologist/oncologist to join our team in Fresno. Join a practice that is supported by oncology nurse navigators and nurse practitioners. Utilize a practice style that allows for flexibility through virtual and in person care. Find autonomy in managing your own patient panel yet find physician support across the Northern California region by joining The Permanente Medical Group.

Oakland:

Seeking two physicians, BC/BE hematologist/oncologist with a strong background in medical oncology/hematology. (1) This position will be a general oncology position with a practice enriched in breast cancer, gyn cancer, and any other malignancies based on candidate interest. A dedicated PA will be supporting the position. Malignant hematology is managed by a separate service in our department. (2) This position is for a physician with special interest in benign hematology and immunotherapy including CAR-T cells. We are home to a regional Center of Excellence for Leukemia and Lymphoma, with a robust clinical trial portfolio, including enrollment of patients on national clinical trials (SWOG, ECOG, NRG, NCI). There are opportunities for clinical research including funding, and teaching of residents and fellows in a supportive and collaborative environment. We have a strong commitment to excellent patient care, with opportunities available for clinical research and teaching in a supportive and collaborative environment. Our practice employs a hybrid schedule allowing for virtual care, and all physicians are supported by nurse case managers and medical assistants.

Roseville:

Seeking two physicians, BC/BE in Hematology and Oncology. Focus on either (1) solid tumors and some hematology (50% breast), or (2) hematology (malignant and benign). Opportunities to participate in and be part of a sub-specialty regional hematology group, clinical trial enrollment (SWOG, ECOG, NRG, NCI), teaching, and Commission on Cancer Accredited team who focuses on state-of-the-art personalized cancer care.

Salinas:

Seeking a physician who is BE/BC in Hematology and/or Oncology. Focus on solid tumors, 1-2 tumor types and some hematology, both malignant and benign.

San Jose:

Seeking two physicians, BE/BC in Hematology and/or Oncology. Focus on solid tumors and some hematology (50% breast and 50% other cancer), or (2) hematology (malignant and benign).

South Sacramento:

Seeking a physician who is BE/BC in Hematology and/or Oncology. Focus on solid tumors (primarily breast cancer, and 1-2 other tumors). Virtual care and telehealth days will be incorporated into practice. Supported by nurse navigators and multidisciplinary tumor boards. Opportunity for further sub-specialization collaboration, clinical trials, or research.

Modesto:

Seeking a physician who is BE/BC in both Hematology and Oncology. Our practice is supported by oncology nurse navigators, and pharmacists, and we participate in specialty case conference and multidisciplinary tumor boards, as well as clinical trials. We are also NAPBC and COC accredited. The Central Valley is a wonderful place to live with affordable real estate, less traffic, and a diverse population. We are close to many outdoor activities, including Yosemite National Park, and it’s easy to make day trips or weekend getaways to San Francisco, Santa Cruz, or Monterey Bay.

Vallejo:

Seeking 2 physicians who are BC/BE in Hematology and Oncology. One opening prefers someone with special interest in breast oncology. The other opening prefers someone with special interest in hematology. Opportunity to work some days from home.

Walnut Creek:

Seeking 2 BC/BE physicians in Hematology/Oncology to join our 12-physician subspecialty practice. One position is 4 days a week, the other is 3 days a week. The positions will be focused primarily in benign and malignant Hematology with the opportunity to do some solid tumor care if interested as well. There will be opportunities to participate in specialty case conferences and multidisciplinary tumor boards, along with a robust clinical trials program. The positions will include some coverage and clinic at multiple sites within the Diablo service area which serves Walnut Creek, Antioch, and Dublin. Opportunities for a hybrid schedule which includes telemedicine exists. All physicians work with a dedicated nurse navigator and medical assistant team, along with rotating nurse practitioners, social workers, acupuncturists, and nutritionists for support in delivering high quality patient care.

Per Diem Opportunities are also available throughout Northern & Central California.

PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY PHYSICIANS

Full-time and Per Diem Openings in Oakland, California

We are currently seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join our growing pediatric specialty group in Oakland, California. Responsibilities for this clinical position include attending in inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings, consultations for general pediatricians, and teaching medical students and residents. The candidate should have completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and be BE/BC in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. The candidate should have excellent communication and teaching skills. The ideal candidate should also possess leadership experience with a track-record of team-building and successful collaboration.

Kaiser Permanente Oakland is an active COG member with over 75 new oncology patients/year. Our thriving hematology practice consists of approximately 100 sickle cell patients and 50 hemophilia patients. We collaborate with colleagues to foster a multidisciplinary approach, including participation in monthly pediatric oncology tumor board and comprehensive sickle cell and hemophilia clinics.

We are an established Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program based at our Oakland Medical Center, which includes physicians, case managers, social workers, child life, and support staff. We are a fully integrated program, with electronic medical records, and an innovative and patient care focused environment. Our physician group cares for approximately 500,000 Pediatric patients in the Central Bay Area. The inpatient setting at our Oakland Medical Center includes a 24-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 35-bed Pediatric ward, and a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Hospitalists and Pediatric Critical Care/Intensivists. We work collaboratively with our Pediatric, Surgical, and Subspecialty colleagues as well as trainees from our own pediatric residency. We also work closely with our fellow Pediatric Hematology/Oncology colleagues at Kaiser Santa Clara and Roseville/Sacramento Medical Centers.
