Join our Engine Reliability team as a
Senior Software Engineer
and make a direct impact on the very foundation of Roblox. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing engine stability and reliability, particularly focusing on performance and crash metrics. You'll develop innovative software solutions to detect, mitigate, and isolate engine incidents, automating processes to catch issues early and drive our reliability metrics to new heights. If you're excited by the challenge of solving complex, large-scale problems in the gaming world—especially in the realm of UGC, scale, and C++—and love working alongside passionate, experienced engineers, this is the perfect opportunity for you to thrive on our dynamic and growing game engine team. You Will:
Develop software to measure and alert on critical engine metrics and be able to automatically co-relate events with engine regressions. Continuously iterate and learn from each engine incident, using those insights to innovate and create new software and tools that prevent future incidents. Work on every application Roblox develops, from mobile phone clients to cloud-based servers. Be expected to be on a call rotation with the reliability team. You Have:
4+ years experience and you've worked on deep and challenging problems in complex Python codebases (C++ would be good to have). Telemetry expertise and a passion for accurate data and know what it takes to get the data right. Systems-level understanding with pointers, templates, and raw blocks of memory are tools to write code, not your enemies.
