General Overview of the Role

HDR is looking for a Project Controls Specialist to join our team. The primary role of this position is to support project controls practices on assigned projects, with the goal to meet scope, schedule, and budget performance. This role will work alongside the Project Controls Managers to develop and maintain schedule, cost, and scope adherence.

Primary Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of project controls processes and procedures for assigned programs/projects to set up a framework to manage scope, budget and schedule. The workstreams under project controls include schedule management, cost management, change management, risk management, and document management.Work with project manager, accountants and other team leads to develop work breakdown structure and/or cost breakdown structure.Develop, update, and analyze CPM schedules for projects including variance analysis.Participate in multi-stakeholder, interactive planning sessions such as schedule workshop.Maintain earned value metrics as part of the schedule update.Interact with engineering, environmental, ROW, etc. discipline leads & construction managers to understand issues and conflicts impacting schedule.Coordinate with necessary team members.Participate in project coordination meetings.Conduct project site visits if applicable.Conduct schedule baseline and schedule update reviews.Participate in development of cost estimates.The capability to actively progress knowledge in the areas of:Oral and written communication skills.Interpersonal and leadership skills.Coordination and prioritization of multiple long and short-term tasks.Organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideally 5 years of progressive experience in a project control function.Advanced Primavera, PERTMASTER, and expert Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to create complex graphs, pivot tables, and apply formulae.Preferred experience with Deltek Acumen Fuse, TILOS or other 4D scheduling tools.Experience with additional PMIS software (eBuilder, ProCore, QuickBase, InEight, Kahua, PMWeb, etc.) desired.Ability to travel to conduct site visits and attend offsite meetings.PMP.Previous experience in scheduling for projects in the power and industrial markets.Previous experience in implementing PMIS and dashboard reporting for a program or organization.

Required Qualifications
