Job Summary:

The Vice President of Land Acquisition will be responsible for overseeing the land acquisition strategy, sourcing, negotiating, and securing land deals that align with the company's growth objectives. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the real estate market, land acquisition processes, and a strong network within the industry. The VP of Land Acquisition will work closely with the executive team to identify and evaluate potential land opportunities, manage relationships with landowners, brokers, and municipalities, and ensure that all land acquisitions meet the company’s financial and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute the land acquisition strategy in alignment with the company’s growth objectives and market conditions.

Market Analysis:

Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, key growth areas, and potential land acquisition opportunities.

Site Selection:

Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential land sites for acquisition, ensuring they meet the company’s criteria for development, zoning, and financial viability.

Negotiation & Acquisition:

Lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, and other stakeholders to secure favorable land deals. Oversee the due diligence process, including environmental assessments, zoning approvals, and legal reviews.

Financial Analysis:

Collaborate with the finance team to perform financial analysis, feasibility studies, and cost projections for potential land acquisitions.

Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor a team of land acquisition professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental and company goals.

Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, real estate brokers, local government officials, and other key stakeholders.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all land acquisitions comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Identify and mitigate risks associated with land acquisitions.

Reporting:

Prepare and present regular reports on land acquisition activities, market trends, and project status to the executive team and board of directors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

10+ years of experience in land acquisition, real estate development, or related fields, with a proven track record of successful land acquisitions.

Strong understanding of real estate markets, land use planning, zoning regulations, and environmental laws.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong project management skills.

Proficiency in financial analysis, including experience with pro forma modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

Strong network of industry contacts, including brokers, developers, and government officials.

Job Type:

Full-time

Pay:

$170,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
