This confidential client is hiring an experienced, technical people leader to become their new VP of a Connectivity Solutions product group.They seek a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Engineering to lead an engineering team in developing state-of-the-art PCIe and CXL solutions for premier (Tier 1) data center and hyperscaler customers. This role requires a deep understanding of PCIe and CXL technologies, a strong background in engineering leadership, and a passion for driving innovation in high-speed connectivity.You will build and lead a team of designers and developers to create cutting-edge interconnect products used in world-class data centers and hyperscalers to enable advanced artificial intelligence (AI) applications. You will oversee all aspects of design, from concept through tapeout and post-silicon, so you must have a proven track record in leading teams that work synergistically and deliver quantifiable results.As our partner diversifies their product offerings, this leader will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of their product roadmap, so this person gets to make a mark as both a people leader and a technology leader in this unique role.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadershipLead and mentor a high-performing team of HW/SW engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence.Develop and execute the engineering strategy for next-generation PCIe/CXL solutions, aligning with the company’s overall business objectives and reporting progress directly to the CTO.Drive the architecture, design, and development of PCIe/CXL solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and reliability.Product DevelopmentOversee the lifecycle of PCIe/CXL product development, from concept through design, validation, and scale production.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and sales, to define product requirements and ensure successful product launches.Ensure the engineering team is equipped with the latest tools, processes, and technologies to accelerate development timelines and maintain a competitive edge.Provide regular updates to the CTO on the status of engineering projects, key milestones, and potential risks.Innovation & TechnologyStay at the forefront of industry trends and advancements in PCIe technology, data center architecture, and hyperscale computing.Identify and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and partnerships that can enhance the company’s PCIe/CXL offerings.Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce time-to-market.QualificationsMinimum Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred)15+ years of experience in semiconductor engineering with at least 5 years in a senior leadership roleProven track record of leading teams to successfully develop and launch complex, high-performance PCIe/CXL or other advanced connectivity solutions.Deep technical expertise in PCIe/CXL architecture, protocols, and applications for data centers and hyperscalers.SkillsStrong leadership and team management skills, focused on mentoring and developing engineering talent.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, focused on driving innovation and delivering results.Industry KnowledgeIn-depth understanding of the data center and hyperscale computing markets, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.Familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to PCIe/CXL and high-speed connectivity.Involvement in industry consortiums such as CXL/PCIe-sig is a plus
