Overview:

Our client, a leading Medical Device Manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Software Engineering. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for all aspects of software and firmware development within their organization. If you have a strong background in medical device design, team development, project estimation, and relevant project experience, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities Summary:They are looking for someone to lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers and technical leads. This includes overseeing project budgets, risk management, delivery, and Quality Assurance, ensuring the project's success. You'll also be in charge of establishing and maintaining quality confirmation processes prior to software releases.

Preferred Qualifications:They want someone who has experience in accurately estimating project scope and effort. You'll use prior experience to identify potential challenges. Communication is an important skill for this role since you will need to communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and needs. Finally, being able to research and recommend new hardware and software to enhance organizational efficiency and performance, as well as handle intellectual property and HIPAA compliance with prior experience in medical device design.

Preferred Technical Knowledge:Proven leadership in embedded software development within medical device design.Expertise in C/C++ and Python in a Linux environment, with the ability to lead code reviews and troubleshooting.Familiarity with wireless standards such as Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi.Experience with enabling connected devices through firmware stacks.Knowledge of connecting devices to various cloud environments.Prior experience with FDA product compliance requirements, specifically IEC 62304 and IEC 60601.

Additional Requirements:Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Occasional travel is required.
