About the JobWe’re hiring a Shipping Associate for our Indianapolis office location to join our growing Fulfillment team. In this position, your primary responsibility will be to ship Ossium products to fulfill customer orders on-time and in-full. You will also be involved in the storage and inventory management of Ossium’s finished products. This role may be leveled as Shipping Associate I, II, or III based on experience.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
1-5 years of supply chain logistics and/or distribution experience in a regulated environment
Valid driver’s license
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Capability to operate with a high level of organization and excellent time management in a dynamic startup environment
Must be able to work safely with bio-hazardous materials and chemicals
Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 25 lbs
Requires use of cryogenic substances (liquid nitrogen); training in the use of liquid nitrogen will be provided
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with arms
This position is based full-time in our Indianapolis office and will require support of on-call weekend and holiday shifts
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in life sciences, or equivalent experience in a related technical field
Experience with inventory management systems, ERP software, and distribution processes
Experience with the requirements of regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA, OSHA, EPA)
Experience shipping products domestically and/or internationally with knowledge of rules, regulations, benefits, and costs of various transportation methods
Key Responsibilities
Assist with oversight of Ossium’s finished goods inventory and distribution
Manage shipping orders both domestic and international, create Bills of Lading, track shipments, and facilitate customer satisfaction
Work regularly with cold storage and cryogenic storage solutions, performing inventory checks, preventive and/or corrective maintenance, and projecting scale-up needs based on production and sales objectives
Prepare and submit export documents, track inventory and chain of custody using an ERP software, qualify various types of shippers and temperature monitoring devices, and perform seasonal verifications
Ensure Distribution activities are performed in accordance with Good Practices (cGXPs) and other relevant regulations
Ensure on-time, in-full delivery of orders and work to continuously improve processes related to shipping and inventory management
Update databases, documents, and/or spreadsheets to support business reporting requirements
Interact with the Sales department to confirm or reject orders, provide fulfillment updates, offer suggestions, and collaborate on customer relations
In your first six months some projects you’ll work on include:
Launching new products and playing a vital role in the first customer fulfillment and patient cases
Forecasting storage capabilities and scale-ups of cryogenic storage solutions for Ossium products
Expanding Ossium’s shipping capabilities by qualifying new shipping materials and methods
Optimizing our finished goods inventory management process to enable Ossium’s rapid growth in the biotech industry
