School Culture and Student Success Coordinator Overview: Girls Global Academy is a dynamic and growing charter high school dedicated to empowering young women through rigorous academics, personal growth, and community engagement. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Dean of Students to join our team. Position Overview: The Associate Dean of Students will play a critical role in supporting the holistic development and well-being of our students. This individual will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and staff to cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student success and achievement under the supervision and leadership of the School Culture and Student Success Coordinator. You are a dedicated innovator who believes girls matter. Responsibilities: Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity, equity, and belonging. Oversee student behavior management systems and disciplinary procedures, ensuring fairness and consistency. Implement and monitor school safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being and security of students, staff, and visitors. Monitor all areas of the school, both inside and outside the classroom, to promote a safe and supportive learning environment. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school safety and security and make recommendations for enhancements as needed. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, providing guidance and support as they navigate academic and personal challenges. Coordinate and facilitate student leadership development programs and extracurricular activities. Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and community partners. Monitor and analyze student data to assess needs and inform decision-making related to student support services. Stay current on best practices and trends in student support services and make recommendations for improvement. Qualifications: Bachelor degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a school setting, preferably in a leadership or student support role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, families, and colleagues. Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and restorative justice principles. Ability to effectively manage crises and resolve conflicts in a calm and professional manner. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community. Experience working with urban youth and an understanding of the unique challenges they may face.
