to see if you may qualify and to get started with your application! What Does a Parole Approval Mean?

The parole program is designed to help people who came into the US illegally by providing them a lawful entry. If someone is approved through this program, the applicant will receive a lawful parole (entry document) that will treat them as though they entered the United States legally and provide them with temporary lawful status. This program does not result in a person getting residency or citizenship. If granted parole, the person will be eligible to apply for employment authorization and be allowed to be in the United States for a temporary period. For some applicants, this will also enable them to adjust their status in the United States to a permanent resident through a separate subsequent process.Who is Eligible?

US Citizen Spouses that entered the United States without permission and Stepchildren of US citizen spouses that entered the United States without permission (parents must have married before your 18th birthday) are eligible to apply. The marriage between the non=citizen and the US citizen must be lawful and have occurred before June 17, 2024.The non-citizen applicant must have been continuously present in the US between June 17, 2014 and June 17, 2024 (for stepchildren, they must be present as of June 17, 2024)The applicant must not have a disqualifying criminal history, be a public danger or be a threat to national security. The applicant must demonstrate they warrant an approval for a significant public interest or urgent humanitarian reason. To learn more, listen to our managing attorney Anna Hysell discuss the new program (Video coming soon!)When Will Applications Be Accepted?

USCIS has stated that applications will begin to be accepted starting August 19, 2024. Applications will be accepted online only. The Applicant will complete and submit form I-131F.How Long Will the Process Take?

It is unknown at this time how long applications will take to process as government processing times have not been published.Do I need a lawyer to help me?

This process is a legal process that requires proper legal advice and assistance. Consultations with a highly competant immigration lawyer is highly recommended to confirm eligiblity and to ensure that you are not risking your placement in removal proceedings and being removed from the United States. The goal is to keep families together, and conferring with an immigration expert to determine if you are eligible is the safest first step.Beware of Scams

USCIS has also issued warnings to the public that this program can open the door to significant scams and encourages applicants to protect themselves by ensuring they work with a licensed attorney. Some common scams to be aware of include:Government impersonators: Look out for individuals who pretend to be USCIS officials. USCIS will only contact you through official government channels and will not contact you through your personal social media accounts (such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, etc.).Scam Websites: Some websites claim to be affiliated with USCIS and offer step-by-step guidance on completing a USCIS application or petition. Make sure your information is from uscis.gov or dhs.gov or is affiliated with uscis.gov. Make sure the website address ends with .gov.Payments by Phone or Email: We will never ask you to transfer money to an individual. We do not accept Western Union, MoneyGram, PayPal, or gift cards as payment for immigration fees. In addition, we will never ask you to pay fees to a person on the phone or by email.Notarios Públicos and unauthorized practitioners of immigration law: In the United States, a notario público is not authorized to provide you with any legal services related to immigration benefits. Only an attorney admitted to practice law in the United States or an accredited representative working for a Department of Justice-recognized organization can give you legal advice on immigration matters. Why Work With Us?
