Director of Data Science

Machinify is the leading provider of AI-powered software products that transform healthcare claims and payment operations. Machinify’s revolutionary AI-platform has enabled the company to develop and deploy, at light speed, industry-specific products that increase the speed and accuracy of claims processing by orders of magnitude.We are seeking a Director of Data Science. This role will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the data science team at Machinify, and requires a deep technical background, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and excellence in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Chief Data Scientist, the Director of Data Science will collaborate closely with other leaders to align engineering efforts with the company's strategic goals.What you will do:Provide high level technical direction & guidance to a team of Senior and Staff Data Scientists, enabling them to do their best workCollaborate with the leadership team to define key technical and business metrics and objectivesTranslate objectives into internal team priorities and assignmentsDrive sprints and work with cross-functional stakeholders to appropriately prioritize various initiatives to improve customer metricsPrioritize hiring, mentoring and developing new team membersFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvementCommunicate technical concepts and strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders effectivelyOwn the success of various models on the field by continuously monitoring KPI’s and initiating projects to improve quality.What you bring:Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldDeep, highly technical data science experienceSeveral years in a leadership roleStartup experience is a big plusProven track record of managing data teams and delivering complex, high-impact products from concept to deploymentIntimate knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices in data securityExceptional team management abilities, with experience in building and leading high-performing teamsAbility to think strategically and execute methodicallyAbility to drive change and inspire a distributed teamStrong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindsetWhat we offer:A flexible and trusting environment where you'll feel empowered to do your best work.Work from anywhere in the US!
