Position Summary

We're looking for a backend software engineer that can build extensible, robust web applications, with an eye for architecture and extensibility.We leverage AWS, TensorFlow, Python, Ruby, Web Components, Ember and Node to develop high-performance applications for the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:Design and implement extensible applications and frameworks for customers and internal customersWork directly with the Product team to analyze business problems to design innovative solutions to respond quickly to customer needsParticipate in design discussions and serve as a senior resource for development across the software stackPerform code reviews and analysisParticipate in technical design and code reviewsDevelop and execute unit testsAssist Customer Operations and customers with software issuesEvaluate new technologies and tools needed / that could be introduced into tech stack; andWork closely with data science, machine learning, and product teams to ensure successful development and timely delivery of new features.

Skills / Requirements:

Education: BS in Computer Science, or related field.Experience:2+ years' experience working in a dynamic technical environment, including experience building features across the tech stack. You have real-world experience building and shipping new features to customers.Technology:Experience with a scripting language, like Python, Ruby or JavaScript, and SQL. Experience with Client or AI is a plus.Self-starter:You enjoy working out problems and can translate high-level tasks and guidance into tested, readable, high-quality code.Fast Learner:We use whatever technology fits the task, not creating tasks that fit the technology. You should be able to learn new languages/tech-stacks and apply them effectively.Team Player:You want others to succeed just as much as you want to yourself and enjoy working in a collaborative environment; working across domains to solve complex, large-scale problems.Communication:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
