We’re searching for a Senior Staff Tech Lead Manager (TLM) to join Aurora’s Test Automation Engineering team.

The Test Automation Engineering team is a new team within Aurora’s hardware organization. The team is tasked with creating and supporting test automation software infrastructure and accompanying test cases to enable hardware and firmware verification and validation (V&V) across the entire product lifecycle. Our framework will be responsible for test deployment, UI, sequencing, logging, results and data visualization, and any other needs related to automated hardware and software V&V. Our testing use cases and customer teams include Electrical Validation, Manufacturing Test, Vehicle Integration, Hardware Reliability, and Firmware Validation.

This team is composed of highly motivated and skilled software engineers from a variety of engineering backgrounds. We are currently working to define and build a scalable, robust, and full featured automation framework. We may move fast, but we keep an eye on the future. Our product and support will be critical to Aurora’s success as the company scales its hardware organization.

In this role, you will

Lead and manage a team of three-five test automation engineers.

Be responsible for career and project management for your team.

Interface with the rest of the Test Automation Engineering team as well as the broader hardware organization to effectively prioritize and execute against varied requests for development and support.

Be responsible for providing direct technical guidance to your team and contributing to the overall technical direction of the larger Test Automation Engineering team.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; and 12 years of proven experience in hardware/software development and test

OR M.S. in relevant field and 8 years of experience

OR PhD in relevant field and 5 years of experience

3+ years of people management experience

Proficiency in Python programming

Desirable Qualifications

Proficiency in C++ programming

Experience in electrical hardware V&V, including manufacturing test, electrical validation, and reliability testing

Experience in firmware V&V, including Hardware in the Loop testing

The base salary range for this position is $189,000-$302,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
