Senior Software Engineer - Core Product

Core Product is responsible for improving the core value of Discord, including chatting, hanging out with friends, and expressing yourself. We work on improving core features like messaging, voice chat, user profiles, and app navigation. You will work across the full stack to build delightful and impactful features that are focused on making Discord the best place to play games and hangout with your friends online.We’re looking for engineers that have strong product sense and are fearless in jumping between technical stacks. You’ll be working with highly experienced engineering peers and cross functional partners while reporting to the Engineering Manager of Core Product.What You'll Be DoingBuilding delightful products with a very high bar for quality, performance, and a focus on impactWorking with Product, Design, Data Science, UX Research, and Marketing to shape the team’s vision and roadmapHelping find the right solutions that balance delight, speed of delivery and impact by collaborating with design and product partnersYou Will Thrive In This Role IfYou have 5+ years of experience as a Software EngineerYou have specialized in building consumer-facing products on web and mobile platformsYou have developed domain expertise in either web or mobile front-end (or both)You are eager to learn new languages and frameworks, and are comfortable working across the full stack when neededYou have worked in a product team with clear metrics goals and had a measurable positive impact on customersYou have a strong product sense and take pride in sweating the details of great UXYou are motivated to help your team members succeed and grow and learn from each other through empathetic feedbackBonus PointsYou are a Discord user, and understand the core features and flow of Discord communicationsYou’ve worked on React Native products

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000 to $201,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
