Here you can make an impact on the world around you and accelerate your career in areas that energize and excite you.The primary purpose of the Sr. Manager Application Development mining is to develop, implement, and complete strategic plans to retain and grow national sales for Univar Solution’s Mining Group in the Energy Division, through leading and supporting Commercial Sales Account Managers nationally.As a Sr Manager Application Development you will provide technical services to mining customers for the purpose of sales growth. Promote distinction between Univar Solutions and our competitors by using a technical consultative approach to needs-based evaluations of the technology applied by customers. Adapt and implement on a local basis, the national product strategies and services you have developed. Assist field sellers and industry team members with joint calls. Identify which Univar technological product best suits the customer’s applications and develop strategies to promote customers’ adaptation and or conversion to Univar products. Builds profitable sales, employing a consultative approach. Develops and maintains a long-term partnership with customers by using industry expertise. Uses Univar resources to provide solutions to customer needs and captures market intelligence.WHAT YOU’LL DO:Assist customer with application/formulation support—35% of timeProvide technical support at all levels of customer as necessaryCoordinate supplier meetings at key/target customersJoint calls with Univar Sales and Suppliers at customersDevelop technical proposalsGenerate product/service application solutionsIdentify new service/product opportunities through supervising industry/market changes and customer needsProvides training and presentations for sales team and customersManage communication with supplier technical resources—25% of timeCollaborates on products and service solutionsAttend product training / continual education / updatesAssist with new product launchesAssist in qualifications of potential new suppliers/productsProvide feedback on technical aspects, intelligence and marketplaceParticipate in all Industry related meeting/teleconferences—20% of timeAssist with Supplier/Customer contract negotiationsProvides communication to collaboratorsAssist in tradeshows (national & local) and Industry conference/meetings; website info, literature developmentEstablishes annual and quarterly sales pipeline targets for respective industry that successfully integrate with overall business team or company strategies--10% of timeWHAT YOU’LL NEED:Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering5+ years of successful industrial sales management experience5+ years in the mining industry and familiarity of mining processes used throughout the US.Proven experience in developing and completing a business planStrong analytical skillsStrong communication skills; ability to listen and speak with others to convey information effectivelyGood decision making skills; ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate oneKnowledge and familiarity with CRM tools and systems (SalesForce)Ability to build strong and lasting business relationshipsProficient in the use of MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPointCompetency
