Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I , you will support the community by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT).This is a Non-Exempt position. Hourly wage: $24 - $26 (DOE)What You Will Do:Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum and lead face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic processes.Engage participants daily, reinforcing group rules and expectations for participation and completion.Work directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate them about supportive networks as they return to the community.Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, and document visible changes in appearance, behavior, and demeanor of program participants.Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records, evaluating and documenting the progress of participants assigned to their groups.Complete all delivery documentation requirements, summarizing participants’ background, treatment plan, and recovery process outcomes.Prepare accurate, concise, informative reports, records, and plans that are consistent with Amity standards and comply with applicable clinical and administrative rules.Liaise with transition/reentry staff and prepare transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.Work collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS, and institution staff, supporting and collaborating with co-faculty, including Supervisors, Directors, and Regional Directors.Participate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum training, technical assistance training, or other training as appropriate.Other duties as assigned.What You Will Bring:Minimum 6 months of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor.Current AOD Certification with an organization recognized by the DHCS OR Registration with BBS or an AOD certifying body, depending on education level.Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse.Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred).Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants.Demonstrate ethical behavior to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participants.Protect and maintain program participants’ health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information.What We Offer:Employer-sponsored Medical, Dental, VisionPaid vacation, sick time, & holidays.401K, HSA, & Supplementary Life insurance programs.An organization committed to social justice and community action.A community-oriented workplace.
