Experienced California-licensed, litigation attorney with proven trial and arbitration experience to handle heavy and complex utility litigation portfolio involving tort, real property, and business disputes in state, federal and arbitration venues. Proven ability to develop, coordinate, lead and administer the provision of complex legal services for an assigned Business Unit, under the direction of the Assistant General Counsel, Litigation.Duties And Responsibilities

Case responsibility and ability to execute quickly and competently on all aspects of litigation, including:Pleadings,Motions,Discovery,Mediations,Trial preparation,Trial, andAppeals.Development of case strategy to obtain optimal outcome.Oversee (but not manage) a team consisting of paralegals and other attorneys in the assigned cases.Provide pre-litigation advice and counseling to the various Business Units as needed.Coordinate, implement and monitor legal services to a specified Business Unit to facilitate and achieve Business Unit objectives.Provide legal services of a highly complex and/or sensitive nature to the Business Unit or other client groups as assigned.Interact with the Business Unit executives and upper management of other client groups.Communicate all significant information about the client to lawyers in the Law Dept. so they can serve the business unit effectively.May include supervision and training responsibility for less experienced attorneys.Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Qualifications

Hybrid Schedule

Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's DegreeJD (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.8+ relevant experience, including “first chair” of complex litigation.Strong analytical skills.Strong communication skills.Requires ability to independently lead/handle complex legal matters in a variety of venues.Admission to the California Bar, and a member in good standing.Preferred Qualifications
