Position Summary:

The President/CEO of the Chamber of Commerce is the chief executive officer responsible for providing strategic leadership to achieve the organization's vision, mission and goals. This role involves managing the Chamber’s operations, programs, and staff, as well as fostering strong relationships with business leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders. The President/CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors and plays a pivotal role in advocating for and advancing the interests of the business members and community.

Local and Regional Travel Expected

Light Travel to association trainings and conferences.

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the Chamber’s mission and objectives.

Provide visionary leadership to promote business growth, economic development, and community engagement.

Lead the Chamber in identifying emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities affecting the business community.

Operational Management:

Oversee the daily operations of the Chamber, including staff management, budget administration, and program execution.

Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of member services, events, and initiatives.

Manage financial resources responsibly, including budgeting, financial reporting, and fundraising efforts.

Advocacy and Public Relations:

Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Chamber, representing its interests to the media, government, and the public.

Advocate on behalf of the business community at local, state, and national levels to influence public policy and regulatory issues.

Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and community organizations.

Membership Development:

Drive membership growth and retention through innovative programs, services, and engagement strategies.

Cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective members to understand their needs and provide valuable resources.

Ensure member satisfaction by delivering high-quality services and benefits.

Community and Economic Development:

Collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and government entities to promote economic development initiatives.

Lead efforts to attract new businesses, support existing businesses, and enhance the overall economic vitality of the community.

Promote a positive business climate through initiatives that support workforce development, infrastructure improvement, and community well-being.

Board Relations:

Work closely with the Board of Directors to establish organizational goals, policies, and strategic direction.

Provide regular updates to the Board on the Chamber’s activities, financial status, and progress toward goals.

Support the Board in governance activities, including board development, meeting preparation, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Proven experience in executive leadership, preferably within a Chamber of Commerce, business association, or similar 501(c)(6) civic organization.

Strong understanding of economic development, public policy, and the business environment.

Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management, profit and loss statements, forecasting and monthly financial statements.

Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, and members.

Commitment to ethical leadership and integrity.

Compensation:

Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Paid time off

Schedule:

8 hour shift

Weekends as needed
