We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.Job OverviewWe are seeking a Sr. Engineer to help us build, improve, and support the Mailchimp Cloud Infrastructures. You will collaborate on the team’s technical direction, aligning with both user and business needs, and bring operational focus to projects that directly impact the future of the department, company, and Mailchimp integration partners and developers globally.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and drive projects.Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex software systems, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions.Exhibit design skills primarily through code organization and efficiency of code design.Actively seek and incorporate design review feedback, and review the design of peers and colleagues recommending changes or improvements.Proficient in programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, troubleshooting, and data handling; write reusable and self-serve code.Deeply understand and leverage prioritization principles and demonstrate the ability to independently make tradeoffs.Surface and mitigate risks early, making judgments on when to escalate.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.Conduct code reviews, promote code quality, and ensure adherence to coding standards.Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize software.Customer focus - take it upon yourself to find new ways to solve customer problems.Take initiative to innovate on solutions and automate repetitive steps, eliminating unnecessary overhead.Minimum RequirementsBS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.5+ years experience with cloud/infrastructure service.Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals and their practical uses.Proficiency with Object Oriented Languages (OOD) such as Python, GoLang.Experience with development in cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Workspace.Understanding of Kubernetes and Containerized solutions.Familiarity with databases, data structures, and central information systems.Experience with the Agile methodology and CI/CD software development.Helpful, can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of problems and show extreme ownership.Excellent problem-solving skills with a history of superb delivery against assigned tasks.Experience in Linux system administration (e.g. CentOS/RHEL) and installing software packages.Experience managing software & services with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
