The LVT Manager is part of the hospital clinical services team and assists with the organization direction, management, and evaluation of patient care services for The Cancer Institute, Diagnostic Imaging, and Dermatology Services. The LVT Manager supports the mission of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center by providing the very best in patient and customer care.

Duties and Responsibilities

Partner with the Director of Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Dermatology departments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, staff development, and career ladder to ensure compliance with national standards and state regulatory requirements

Plan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day activities of the veterinary clinical staff, including LVTs and Assistants

Collaborate with the team leaders and staff to develop, continually improve, and promote quality standards for veterinary clinical care

Act as a working supervisor, including in an LVT capacity approximately 40% of the time

Operate specialized MRI and CT imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images, as directed by Radiologists

Operate Linear Accelerator and support the Radiation Oncology Service

Assist the Director with daily operations, supervising patient care to ensure patient safety, and be responsible for learning departmental skillsets, chemotherapy preparation, and delivery

Assist in meeting patient care requirements in accordance with physician instructions, hospital policies, and approved patient care standards

Inform supervisor and/or appropriate personnel of needed repairs for equipment or unsafe conditions

Implement and assess disciplinary action and progress improvement as needed

Must have strong knowledge and/or willing to learn all aspects of oncology, diagnostic imaging, and dermatology

Perform responsibilities in accordance with hospital goals, objectives, policies, and procedures

Demonstrate core value of care through positive behavior and act as an ambassador for AMC

All other related projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications Desired

Current NYS Veterinary Technician Licensure required, VTS preferred

Minimum of 2 years of LVT experience in a specialty veterinary hospital

Proven ability to lead veterinary clinical and technical staff in a healthcare environment

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Reports to: Director of Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Dermatology

Salary Range$80,000 – $95,000
