New Avenues for Youth seeks a compassionate and resilient Day Services & Outreach Manager to join our Day Services & Outreach team.

As a Day Services & Outreach Manager, you’ll be a consistent and intentional guide for youth navigating difficult paths. Experienced:

You have faced and overcome challenges related to systems, mental health, and/or houselessness. Your experience is a source of strength and fuels your compassion and care. You have worked with high risk youth and have experience managing teams.

You create safe spaces for team members to receive feedback, support, and guidance in order to best serve youth.

Clear Communicator:

You are able to provide clear, effective feedback to teams and have challenging conversations with both youth and staff. You have experience with de-escalation skills and crisis intervention.

You embrace continuous learning, seeking new knowledge and skills to better support yourself and the youth you serve.

Equity:

You understand how systemic oppression impacts the lives of youth in programs and the systems that you will support youth in navigating. You approach this world with humility and a deep sense of growth and learning.

What You’ll Do:

Lead by Example:

Build genuine connections with youth and model the tenants of positive youth development. Take point during moments of crisis and act in alignment with established safety protocol and procedure.

Milieu Management:

Manage all daily Drop In operations, including scheduling coverage for all shifts, planning meal preparation, maintaining space cleanliness, and supply ordering.

Support Growth and Learning:

Lead and supervise a team of service coordinators, ensuring they have space to receive feedback, support, and guidance. Oversee any volunteers supporting programming.

Budget and Spending:

Oversee and manage budget spending within the department, providing accurate reports of what is being spent and why.

Youth Engagement:

Plan and execute engaging, culturally responsive programming for youth, including groups and field trips, to support them in building skills toward safe and stable living.

Document the Journey:

Maintain accurate and timely records and oversee data entry for the Day Services Program, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with high-risk youth

Minimum of 1 year of experience managing and leading teams

Ability to work with multicultural staff and youth

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience preferred
