In this position, you will work independently and in conjunction with the home office to develop and manage Business Development Field Team activities within the assigned territory with premium growth and underwriting profit being the principal objectives. You will contribute to the development and lead the implementation of our Company’s business strategies and tactics within the agency channel. You will identify issues and/or opportunities that may impact the organization and our ability to achieve our primary goals; once identified, you will facilitate the proper communication to the appropriate leaders/departments to ensure the issues/opportunities are addressed accordingly.Position Responsibilities:Designs, develops, and implements sales strategies to increase sales and profitability and maintain knowledge of competition to increase market share within assigned territory.Works with and coordinates with the Product Development Group and Claims Group to ensure the region is achieving goals and objectives. Recommends and/or adjusts direction/activity/tactics as necessary to ensure growth and profitability.Leads the team by managing expectations in several areas including: job objectives/expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; coordinating and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.Oversees the development and execution of regular training/coaching and development of designated team members, especially new employees to ensure a smooth transition into our organization. Monitors employee effectiveness and adjusts accordingly.Ensures that all agency appointment criteria for the region are being followed and develops/maintains good working relationships with key agents throughout the designated territory.Coordinates efforts to provide continuing education to our agencies within the designated territory.Implements our strategic vision and measures our Business Development activity/tactics within assigned territory of responsibility and shares those results with other departments/leaders of the organization.Ensures that agents are classified according to business potential and allocates the appropriate Business Development resources to maximize our return.Monitors progress toward production commitments and enforces contractual agreements on a continuous basis.Oversees all agencies within the designated territory to ensure new business applications comply with our program guidelines and agent behavior adheres to and is consistent with all underwriting guidelines.Position Requirements:Minimum 10+ years of progressive responsibility in the sales field, insurance strongly preferred.5 plus years of experience in management in a sales environment (P&C preferred).Bachelor’s degree.Personal Lines insurance experience, Commercial lines experience preferred.Proven record of sales success and history of sales management accomplishments.Knowledge of sales process required in addition to the ability to read and decipher financial reports and records.The incumbent must exhibit above average analytical and communication skills, high energy level and initiative.Superior communication and presentation skills.This position is a remote role and can work from a US based home in California.The range for this position is $113,800 to $196,300. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.
