2025 Internship - Flight Test Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

:

Will be involved in performance, flying qualities, and systems flight testing of Textron Aviation jet and propeller aircraft. Testing includes the development and certification of existing and new types of aircraft. Some travel will be required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research U.S. and foreign regulatory requirements, develop test procedures, write flight test plans, analyze flight data and write test reports.

Work with various groups within Product Engineering to develop systems flight test procedures and pass/fail criteria.

Support performance, flying qualities and systems flight testing by working with flight crews via telemetry station and on-board during flight tests.

Participate in the development and improvement of flight test processes and tools.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

:

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relative field.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Professional and diplomatic demeanor

Strong sense of accountability and integrity

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
