Traveler will automatically be declined.•Only submit traveler who can work schedule in posting and interested in the unit.The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery, promotes the safety of the patient during surgery, provides assistance to the surgeon during surgery, cares for the patient during surgery and cares for the instruments and supplies used in surgery. The Surgical Technologist functions to promote the safety of the patient as a member of the surgical team. The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).Minimum Requirements:Facility Requirement:Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile). Experience:Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required (looking for strong ENT, Plastics, Eye experience - this experience detail must be included in resume and skills checklist). Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.Prior traveler experience highly preferredLicensure and Certification:BLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLYEducation:Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.References:Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only from work performed in the last two years).FloatingTravelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
