Summary: Bus people are considered service assistants. They support the wait staff and managers in maintaining the dining room in preparation for serving our guests. They may assist the servers with water service, bread service and clearing as long as their first priority of bussing and resetting tables is complete.
Job Duties:
Clear dirty tables quietly and unobtrusively, checking floor for linen, dropped utensils and debris, wiping and realigning chairs properly to the tableReset with clean, unstained linen (tablecloths where applicable and cloth napkins or roll-ups), placing flatware and glassware appropriately always handling by the stems and handles; and centerpieces in proper positionsDeliver water to the table when requested by a server and assist server in pouring throughout the guest experienceNever replace bottled water without server or guests approvalCommunicates immediately to server any bottled water replaced at guests request to ensure that the product appears on the checkSet-up and bake bread (where applicable), conscious of waste, cooking only what is required for expected number of guestsBring bread and bread condiments to the guest if assigned always before any other foodis brought to the tableCommunicates with hostess or manager to reset tables efficiently coordinating with scheduled reservations or waiting guestsAssist server in removing full and dirty trays from dining roomAssist servers in pre-bussing between coursesAssist dishwasher by properly clearing and stacking plates and separating glassware and silverware into assigned racks and binsAssists servers and runners in carrying food from the kitchenClean and stock bus-stations before and after shift with linen, glassware, plates and flatwareMaintain a polished, professional appearanceMaintain a respectful and cooperative relationship with all other employeesSide duties include: changing trash bins and linen bags, replacing stock, cleaning and maintaining all aspects of the restaurantRequired Skills and Qualifications
