Repair and maintain plumbing - replace washers in leaky faucets, mend burst pipes, and open clogged drains using specialized equipment (jetter)Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe - composed of metal, pvc, fiberglass and vitrified clayJoin pipe by use of bolted flanges, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks jointsMay bend pipe to required angle using pipe-bending toolFills pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauge to determine if system is leakingInstall and repair plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softenersPerform other related duties as assignedEssential Skills

Experience in maintaining, repairing, installing and operating plumbing systems - includes pipes, traps, plumbing fixtures, back flow prevention systems, water and drain lines, pressure vessels and control systemKnowledge of building architectural/structural elements including alterations and repairsFollows verbal instructions and adheres to policies and proceduresAdaptable and flexible in work situationsPrioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely mannerPRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years experience in the plumbing tradesBackflow certificationDuty PhoneValid driver’s licensePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkRegular, dependable attendanceU.
