Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel - Jackson is seeking an electrician who will promote safety as our #1 value while ensuring consistency and reliability in mill operations. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor. The electrician must promote safety for themselves and their teammates. This person
must have the desire to learn and find solutions for safety, quality, and production processes. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always. Other roles of the electrician include, but are not limited to installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing electrical and automation equipment and improving mill reliability.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years industrial electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience.Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC software and hardware.High School Diploma or equivalentAbility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.Detailed Selection Criteria:
Occupational Safety: Using knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, strategies, and judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws and regulations to promote standards as well as working to continuously improve processes to ensure safety of all individuals.Communication: The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicate information so that others will understand.Initiative: Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.Teamwork: Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.Accountability: Displays responsibility with work habits and has ability to hold others accountable for desired results.Problem Solving: Identifying problems and analyzing or review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Judgement/Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Maintenance Systems & Techniques: Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge for assisting with servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, tools, devices, moving parts, and equipment.
