Job Summary

We are seeking a talented, skilled Carpenter to join our team! Candidate must have a good work ethic, positive attitude, and a proven track record of quality craftsmanship. We work primarily on historic residences and remodels. Our goal is to build generational solutions. We take pride in our product and enjoy the challenge of problem solving that comes with working on these old houses. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of historic remodeling with a focus on framing and detailed trim work working with little supervision and following all essential health and safety standards. The Carpenter will contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products. The ideal candidate is hard-working and dedicated to producing quality work. Job Type: Full-time

Job Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience is a must.

Knowledge of historic remodeling is a plus.

Great hand dexterity and an eye for detail.

Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.

Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)

Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.

Ability to read and build based on reading blueprints.

Must always follow safety guidelines.

Good understanding of basic math.

Ability to safely operate hand and power carpentry tools.

Good physical condition and endurance.

Successfully pass a drug test and background screening.

Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Job Responsibilities:

Installs walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel,

metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.

Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim.

Works on scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.

Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.

Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.

Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.

Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.

Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.

Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repairs or replaces using hand tools.

Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.

Cleans up worksite debris.

Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand requirements.

Use blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine construction requirements and materials needed.

Construct wood structures including framing, additions, porches, cornices and decks, interior spaces such as kitchens and baths.

Install fixtures and materials such as windows, trim, and hardware.

Interact with customers, suppliers, and other construction professionals.
