full-time Desk Clerk

for the

Chicago

campus.

Temporary Job Description:Provides standard & routine clerical & administrative support which may include word processing, data entry, orderingsupplies, opening & sorting mail, copying, filing, answering phones, greeting visitors, providing information, &/orscheduling meetings. Serves as a primary desk contact for residents in the graduate community, for general administrative needs including key management and mail & package distribution. This position is to provide prompt, courteous, and timely customer service to our residents and off-campus contacts. This includes answering the telephone, greeting residents who come to the desk, answering questions and identifying and analyzing the residents' housing-related problems and directing them appropriately. This position requires excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. The person will also provide guidance to student staff. They will work primarily from the desk (shared work space); with alternative work space assignment based on seasonal department needs.Qualifications Required:1 year of customer service/administrative experienceHS diplomaExperience utilizing Microsoft Office SuiteSoftware Required:MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Northwestern University seeks to employ a varied and diverse range of dynamic people who understand the importance of our mission and vision.
